What we can learn from the hardest man alive David Goggin's

“I weighed almost 300lbs was depressed, spraying cockroaches for eco lab”. Until….

After returning home from his shift at Eco Lab, David gulped down a 42oz shake accompanied by a side of Hostess mini donuts. As he settled in, he switched on the TV and tuned in to watch Class 224 Hell Week of Basic Underwater Demolition Seal training (BUD/S) - renowned for being the most mentally and physically demanding program in the military.

Witnessing resilient individuals, whom David regarded as tough, succumb to the challenges and ring the bell ignited a spark within him. Inspired by their determination, he felt a newfound motivation to shed weight and pursue his new found dream of becoming a Navy SEAL.

Now that you have some background of who David Goggin’s is lets talk about what we can learn from his story.

David at his heaviest

The accountability mirror

What is the accountability mirror?

The Accountability Mirror is a daily practice where you jot down your small victories each day. Instead of fixating on losing a specific amount of weight, concentrate on shedding a pound.

Why You have to try the accountability mirror
Accountability Mirror is a practice that allows you to appreciate the journey and witness your daily progress each day.

How to start the accountability mirror

Begin by looking into the mirror and having an honest conversation with yourself. Identify your goals and pinpoint the challenges you've been facing. Determine what you can fix. Then, purchase some sticky notes and write down these goals. Place these notes on your mirror daily. Examples could include burning a certain number of calories each day, completing a small task for your business, making $100 today, etc. Whenever a goal is achieved, take down the old note and write a new step in your journey of toughening your mind. The

Become the master of your dreams

A lot of people dream about being a sports figure, or dream about being a seal and all it is, is a dream” - David Goggin’s

David is highlighting the common tendency that most of us do not actively pursue our dreams.

Often, we perceive our aspirations as too grand for our capabilities, and despite consistently contemplating these dreams, we fail to exert any effort to realize them.

Consequently, our dreams cast a looming shadow, assuming a role of dominance over our lives.

What we should do instead

David suggests a more proactive approach: acknowledging our dreams and taking deliberate steps, regardless of the apparent challenges or obstacles, in order to reach them. The key is to confront the metaphorical mountain associated with our dreams and commence the journey towards their fulfillment.

Believing in yourself and finding hope

What hope can do

While David constantly emphasizes the importance of toughening our minds, what I've found is that mental resilience ultimately leads to believing in yourself. You see, when you do something that sucks every single day, it propels you to achieve things you never thought possibledreams and aspirations that once sounded out of this atmosphere become achievable.

The rat experiment

Are you familiar with the rat experiment where rodents were immersed in water until exhaustion? Initially, their endurance was limited to approximately 15 minutes, and they were rescued just as they began to sink. Astonishingly, in a subsequent iteration of the experiment, the resilient rats persevered for almost 60 hours. It was the tenacity of hope, a slim chance at being rescued once more, that fueled their prolonged survival. Consider this: if a small rat can endure significantly longer with hope, imagine the possibilities for your own resilience and achievements through self-belief.

Hope can achieve remarkable things for us, so start believing in yourself. Once you realize what you're capable of, you’ll be TRULY amazing.

Ending statement

Those are what We believe to be the key takeaways from David Goggin’s but there is honestly thousands more so read his book or watch some of his speeches online he is truly an amazing inspiration. STAY HARD!
